Developing future leaders
The purpose of Raytheon's CLDP is to develop the future contracting and business management leaders of the
Company. The contract is the one instrument that affirmatively defines the relationship between the buyer and
the seller. As a Contracts Administrator, you will be responsible for building the relationship; for ensuring
that the rights and responsibilities of the parties are clearly understood and memorialized; and for ensuring
that both the Company and the customer comply with the requirements of the contract between them. The program
prepares you for these responsibilities and provides you with the tools you will need to succeed.
Challenging, on-the-job assignments
As a participant in the program, you will be assigned to challenging, on-the-job assignments that will
help you develop your skills while contributing to the success of the organization. Special emphasis will be
placed on ensuring that you understand the total operating environment of the Company, and the
interrelationships of its many related functional elements including accounting, legal, contracts,
procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and quality. During your two years in the program, you may
be assigned to different operating locations.
A complete education to broaden your horizons
To supplement your on-the-job training and career development, we also provide you with varied seminars,
course work, and related career development activities on topics including:
- Fundamentals of Contracting
- Program and Project Management
- Financial Management
- Preparation of Winning Proposals
- Negotiation Skills
Program participants attend training at a centralized location for two days every other month during
the two-year program.
Active feedback and career development
In each stage of your development, you will be personally mentored by a Senior Contracts Manager who
will facilitate your progress through the program. As you demonstrate competence in a particular area,
your mentor will provide you with opportunities offering increasing complexity and challenge. Your mentor
will also monitor and guide your activities to ensure that both you and the organization get the greatest
benefit from your rotational assignment.
The next step
At the end of the program, you will be placed in an assignment with the contracts organization within
Raytheon that best fits your demonstrated abilities, aptitudes, and interests.
Who we're looking for
Motivated and enthusiastic business or other related degree candidates who are graduating in the top
third of their class are encouraged to apply.
