LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

The Raytheon Company Leadership Development Programs (LDP) are built around rotational development assignments. Each assignment is carefully designed to provide challenging developmental opportunities within the context of a short-term work assignment.

As an LDP participant, you are expected to develop your full potential in your particular area of emphasis. A mentor, an assignment manager and your program manager(s) will support you. These roles combine to maximize the impact of the two-year development process.

Key program elements include:

  • Three distinct, week-long cross functional leadership development sessions
  • Functional specific development sessions
  • Video forums
  • Online leadership library and self-directed eLearning
  • Raytheon Six Sigma training
  • Cross-business & cross-geography team projects
  • Career development planning

With Raytheon's emphasis on the Six Sigma process, you will be expected to complete specialist training and qualification by the end of the program.

As with any ongoing development program, there are regular opportunities for individual and group feedback on developing your leadership competencies. All feedback is also accompanied with a personal development plan that includes appropriate milestones and support systems.

Individual program requirements vary and all candidates selected for the program have each demonstrated their capacity for potential leadership. Many members have prior experience in their LDP concentration and hold advanced degrees.

*These functional area programs also have summer internship opportunities as part of the program.
