ENGINEERING RECOGNITION PROGRAMS

Entry-Level Engineering Jobs Bringing you the recognition you deserve
More than 40% of Raytheon's employees are engineers, scientists, or work in direct support of a technical professional. We are an engineering-driven organization. We have a long history of innovation and success because we understand engineers and engineering. Throughout our history, we have repeatedly demonstrated our appreciation for the innovation and commitment to technological excellence. Today, Raytheon has a number of programs designed to recognize the accomplishments of the engineering and technical community:

  • Achievement Awards
  • The Technical Honors Program
  • The Fellows Program
  • The Engineering Leadership Development Program
  • The Engineering Mentor Program
  • The Raytheon CEO Award

Achievement Awards
The Achievement Awards program is designed to provide cash awards to recognize extraordinary accomplishments. The program is open to all engineers who are not part of other formalized incentive programs. Eligible employees and teams are recognized for a wide-ranging set of accomplishments. Achievement awards are given at the time of occurrence with minimum paperwork and delay in delivery of the awards.

The Technical Honors Program
Our Technical Honors Program is open to engineers from the senior engineer level up to the senior principal fellow level. This provides a progression of awards linked to the different professional career levels. The award packages include plaques, cash awards, an annual technical stipend, public recognition, and a social event with other honorees. Engineers are given repeated opportunities to earn the honors designation, as they progress through the steps of the engineering career ladder. An engineer receives additional rewards and recognition, each time he or she earns an honor.

The Fellows Program
The Fellows Program has been designed to recognize the "best of the best" of our technical employees and therefore, is reserved for only the top 4% of the engineering organization. The introductory fellows level includes engineers with a long career of significant accomplishments and demonstrated technical competence. The most senior fellows designation is reserved for the top 100 engineers in Raytheon. The fellow awards and classification has a highly selective set of criteria. The selection process ensures that beyond the technical education qualifications, the individual must also have made significant contributions to the success of Raytheon and the engineering profession.

The Engineering Leadership Development Program
The Engineering Leadership Development Program (R/ELDP) is designed to give talented, early-career people the tools, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. The R/ELDP is comprised of engineers from two different backgrounds:

  • RELDPs – Raytheon’s top engineering new hires, recruited through the businesses specifically for this program, with the intention of rotating to three different businesses and geographical locations during the program’s two years.

  • ELDPs – Early career Raytheon engineers who have been designated by their business leadership as high potentials. These engineers have three to seven years of work experience with at least one year with Raytheon.

The Engineering Mentor Program
The Engineering Mentor Program is a formal, organization-wide program that provides recognition for mentors and participants who are being mentored. Only a select group of individual engineers will be asked to be mentors. The opportunity to become a recognized member of the mentor program is available to those engineers who have both demonstrated technical competence and a willingness to help other engineers learn the skills of the profession. Likewise the role of mentee may be reserved to those engineers seen as most capable of benefiting from the relationship with a mentor. Each business unit implements the mentoring program in a different fashion.
